Lubricant is a liquid converted from Heavy Oil in a Chemical plant.
It is used in the production of Express transport belts, Express underground belts, Express splitters, and Electric engine units.

Tips
- Since Lubricant is a liquid, made from Heavy Oil, also a liquid, and the most common other product of Heavy Oil is Light Oil, yet another liquid, it's generally a good idea to keep the Chemical Plant that's making Lubricant in the fluid-processing area, and to move the assemblers that use Lubricant for manufacturing electric engines or blue belts to positions nearby. While it is possible to instead use pipes to spread out the fluid-processing area to match your conveyor-belt lines, it's much more difficult, for many reasons: fluids don't flow as well through very long pipes; aboveground pipes block the player's movement; pipes cannot be placed next to each other without joining; and it's much easier to see the status of a conveyor belt than the status of a pipe's contents.
- If you run your Heavy Oil pipe from the refineries past a Lubricant-making Chemical Plant before sending it to the cracking Chemical Plants, you can be sure that the Lubricant production will have priority over cracking.
- Most games will only ever need one lubricant-producing Chemical Plant and one Storage Tank for the lubricant.
