• Automated transport makes only sense if you have minimum two train stops.
• You need at least two train stops and a train.

Basic

• To setup a train route simply right click on your locomotive,
• add the two stops and click the start button.
• When you build your first automated transport, try to make it simple.
• If the train is fueled it will start immediately.

Advanced

Train doesn't start?

• train is fueled? See Vehicle/Train/Refueling.
• Needs the train to turn?
  • make possibilities for one-sided trains to turn around or
  • make locomotives at both ends.
• Misplaced or nonfunctional switches?
• Another train on the same rail segment?
  • Railway network/Train stop: placed in right-hand side of expected train direction?
  • Railway network/Signals: allowed to enter from the right direction?
  • Railway network/Automated transport: When right-clicking the train you can set up a schedule. The lower window are the list of all existing train stops, the upper window is the route, the train should do. You can open the map (M) to see the names. The highlighted entry is the current target.
• Railway network/Train schedule: Time which the train will wait.

No path?

When trains cannot reach the target and stands still, while a "No path" pops up over the locomotive. Check:

• Can the train reach every station by only driving forward? Build turning slopes or place a locomotive at both ends of a train!
• Are the train stops standing in the right direction? Train stops stand at the right side of the track!
