The Alien Science Pack (also known as "purple science") was the highest tier of science pack prior to Factorio version 0.15. It was used in Labs to research the most advanced technologies. It could only be crafted from Alien artifacts, which were found in the ruins of enemy Spawners.
With the 0.15 research overhaul, this item is no longer obtainable, having been replaced by multiple other types of science packs.
